FOIA Request: Declassified FBI Files of Ivan Illich
Richard Kahn
Abstract
Per a Freedom of Information Act Request made during the spring of 2009, these small set of document pages was released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Though heavily redacted and in parts of poor quality they reveal that the Bureau had at least one agent inside Illich's CIDOC in the late 1960s that was investigating possible connections between subversive discussions that were taking place there and Latin American revolutionary movements. It is concluded in the final document that Illich was not actively involved in political insurrection and that the case of his investigation could be closed.
